We’re putting explicit teaching at the core of teaching and learning. And don’t take explicit teaching to mean strict or simple methods. It’s the opposite: sophisticated, inclusive, highly interactive techniques and interventions. Teachers do a tough job and I stand with them.

If adults don’t understand that concepts & skills that are “basic” to them are in fact *complex* to young children, corners will be cut & instructional knees will be grazed. Lost learning time compounds in pernicious ways. This is to be celebrated for its vision & substance 🙌
