Today is international day to end violence against sex workers. I’m thinking of those who have lost their lives due to the actions of violent people, those who live in fear of violent state practices, & who carry the burden of stigma. All sex workers deserve rights & respect 💜

Today has shown police don’t need de-escalation training, they choose who to escalate on, that’s not a training issue. Police don’t need unconscious bias training, they are conscious of their bias.

Inspector Ben Martain says that in #Queensland, "training on recognising and stopping coercive control" for Queensland Police will roll out later this year, whether or not the state develops an offence of #coercivecontrol. #ANROWSConf2021
