#SpringAwakening! Spring is still a week away, but #Aroids are already stirring in neUS... #Symplocarpus foetidus (‘Skunk Cabbage’) uses floral #thermogenesis to elevate temp of #spadix and melt its way up thru snow & ice - seen in wetland this AM.. 10-15 cm of snow? No problem!
