Can’t remember the last time I giggled at a movie as much as just now watching The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent for the first time

Huge news for anyone working in tech in the US.

Noncompetes are now banned: not just in California (like before), but nationwide. Very, very relevant for anyone at Amazon (which is the Big Tech that has enforced noncompetes even for low-level engineering positions).

Making Boursin pasta with peas for dinner. Read the footnote in our family recipe book right after my husband reminded me that he doesn’t want a lot of peas 😂

If we've talked in-person over the past few weeks, I've probably mentioned that I saw a great talk at Data Council which made me feel like I was seeing the future.

This is that talk, which I would alternatively title as 'how we take the human out of the loop to scale LLMs'

Started North Woods by Daniel Mason this weekend. I'm about 1/3 of the way through and it's shaping up to be my favorite book so far this year. The stories of a house traced through decades are very engaging, there are elements of magical realism (<3), and the writing is superb.

Legitimately used an average of a quantile of a median in an analysis today and knew I'd felt this way before
