Looks like the CFPB is dropping a requirement that Toyota’s finance arm pay $48 million to customers it had harmed, per a 2023 agreement with the bureau under the Biden admin.

The click-to-cancel rule was set to go into full effect this week, requiring that firms make it as easy to cancel a subscription as it is to sign up. Firms had 6+ months to come into compliance. But the new FTC is giving them more time to keep trapping people in subscriptions.

Not true! One of the most significant actions of Lina Khan’s FTC was cracking down on incumbent pharma companies using FDA patent regs to block competition in the inhaler market. That’s why last year inhaler prices dropped from $500+ to $35 for millions of Americans. Abundance!

If more people understood what LLMs do a basic level - predict the next word in a string with no underlying “reasoning” as to why that word makes sense - this would be less frequent. But now the Chicago Sun-Times is sending people to look for a non-existent Andy Weir book.

Disturbing behavior from FTC. This lawsuit would’ve protected families from paying higher prices at the grocery store and stopped conduct that squeezes small businesses and communities across America. Dismissing it is a gift to giant retailers as they gear up to hike prices.

Trump's "big beautiful bill" has a carveout for Big Tech — it would stop states from doing anything to regulate AI for the next 10 years. It would be a disaster for workers, and a gift to Silicon Valley billionaires.
