Lovely afternoon peace walk in Sunderland starting at the Minster and ending at Sunderland Central Mosque. Hundreds of folk out walking to come together as a city in harmony against hate. The atmosphere was so joyful and really what we all needed after a horrendous weekend.

“If we don’t amplify right wing takes on concerns born out of insecurity, we’ll marginalise them further & bad things will happen”, they said. Cue 14 years ratcheting up R wing politics in govt. How about we truly prioritised getting more opportunities into left-behind areas?

Defeatist IMO. A lot of smart people working w/in NHS: great ideas, but stifled. E.g. Many places responded magnif’ly & autonom’ly to onset of COVID when centre was 😳. Prof’l bodies are stakeholders rep’ing diff persp’ves. Agree obj’ves & work w clinicians to deliver.
