1/3 Tower Hamlets is no longer run by a democracy. Its mayor, Lutfur Rahman, has refused to engage in repeated requests for a conversation or to release results of the public consultation into #schoolstreets around Chisenhale School

2/3 Instead of talking and listening, mayor Lutfur Rahman has resorted to sending contractors at 7pm to remove the Chisenhale Space, because he seems to only be able to operate under the cover of darkness. There are alternatives to this - why won’t Tower Hamlets Council listen?

3/3 parents and children are doing all they can to witness and report it - Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, can you do something to help and help bring Tower Hamlets Council in line with the rest of London and its support for #schoolstreets please?

Update on my mini 🧵: Some fantastic parents and children stood their ground this evening and Tower Hamlets Council has agreed to a meeting with the school and residents to find a solution. YES!!

So brilliant to see some good news and positive action to clean up the air 💪
