This SY has been pretty rough for me emotionally. I'm currently on bereavement & I'm really missing my students. I've received a few emails to acknowledge me during #TeacherAppreciationWeek. The messages really touched my ❤️ especially b/c they are thinking of me in my absence.

Worth the read. I love the way Dr. Bryan Pearlman #MaslowBeforeBloom reacted to the student. He didn't become agitated and yell back. He remained calm which allowed the student to calm down. What's just as important is when the student returned to class, the teacher welcomed the student with a smile.

I love these strategies. Some of the elementary and middle school suggestions can be applied to high school as well.

This week, I have been on a natural high after attending NCTM conference in DC. I meet the Dr. Kristopher J. Childs (he/him) and others from Open Up Resources. I met the Peter Liljedahl and was able to get my copy of Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics signed. And I met the Dan Meyer.

At the founding of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated we were one chapter, one sisterhood ignited by the passion and purpose of our 22 Founders. Today, we boast over 1,050 chapters worldwide. #DST1913
