We are delighted to announce that we, Beacon Academy PE, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year. Thank you to all staff, parents/guardians, and North East Lincolnshire: School Sport Partnership Craig & the team for another excellent academic year… and it’s not over yet!

Another Monday, another fun lunch time club! GAMES club was set up to increase the participation of SEND children, creating a safe space for all to move. It’s become so much more than that, it’s evolving organically and the students are leading the way. Beacon Academy

Tonight marked the final round of a busy few weeks of fixtures with the Y9/10 G&D Rounders Tournament hosted at Beacon. Our team put on an outstanding display of skill and team spirit, finishing 4th overall. Well done team! Thank you to all staff for your support.

Proud to have successfully hosted the G&D Rounders 2025 tournament! Even prouder to have fulfilled teams in Years 7–10, 30+ children involved. A huge thank you to our incredible Sport Leaders, all supporting staff from local schools, and especially the brilliant Beacon team!

Year 10 have been fantastic on their PE work experience - supporting lessons, organising events, resourcing the dept, plus taking part in professionalism CPD and careers chats with the full PE team!

Proud to be supporting our Lionesses as the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 kicks off. We’re so proud to have been part of the #LetGirlsPlay and #GameOn programmes. We’re also incredibly proud to have had a girl trial for England this year!

A huge well done to our Y10 students completing their PE work experience this week. They’ve shown maturity and professionalism supporting teaching duties, upholding standards, and contributing to G&D Rounders and Y6 Transition. A valuable insight into busy days and late finishes.

Monday lunch time GAMES club - unstructured play is at the heart of what we do during this time! The girls are allowed to use any equipment that they like and just play… slowly today they ended up collaborating, communicating & team building. So lovely to observe.

Outstanding success at the Grimsby & District Athletics Championships! Our pupils delivered incredible performances, securing two major trophies: Division 2 Year 10 Girls Champions (Sheila Marshall Shield) and Division 2 Girls Relay Champions (Mike Hobden Shield). Well done!

Huge congratulations to our Y10 Girls who were crowned Division 2 Champions at the Grimsby & District Athletics Championships, bringing home the Sheila Marshall Shield. Highlights include 1st place finishes in 100m, 200m, 800m, Triple Jump, Long Jump and Relay. Excellent talent.

The PE Team are very much excited for Sports Day on Thursday 17 July! Here are some action shots from 2024 to remind us of what a fun day ahead we have planned!
