Jane Chelliah MBE describes herself as a #Feministmother: “It’s about putting that oxygen mask on yourself first before putting it on your child, and that way, you can not only be the best version of yourself but you can be the best for your child. It’s about empowered mothering.”

Solidarity to all the mummies (and daddies) marching today for better childcare and support for working families. I’m there with you in spirit. @PregnantScrewed #MarchOfTheMummies

@PregnantScrewed has filled a much needed gap in spotlighting pregnancy discrimination + campaigns tirelessly to end the motherhood penalty. I had the immense privilege of interviewing Joeli Brearley for Brown Don’t Frown Podcast 🎙 last year: podfollow.com/brown-dont-fro…

As a working mother, this #InternationalWomensDay, I’d like to emphasise that there are wider societal and economic benefits of: 1. Inclusive workplace maternity policies. 2. Affordable childcare. 3. Access to resources to cope with the mental/ physical changes of motherhood.

The list goes on, but those three should be high up on the agenda now, given the lack of economic growth, a dearth of workers and an ageing population. Having children shouldn’t be a luxury. The predicted ROI on the above far outweighs the costs. It’s a no-brainer. #IWD2023
