In 1897 The National Union of Women's Suffrage Socities was founded and local Katherine Mina Courtauld was secretary for the north west Essex Branch, campaigning for the rights of women. In 1911 she wrote the note in the above census and refused to wear corsets! #IWD #Women

Yesterday we raised the Armed Forces Day Flag and held our annual Celebration Event. Great Bradfords Primary School joined the Chairman & her esteemed guests & were able to try on original military uniform & handle wartime items from Braintree District Museum.
