This week, World Federation of the Deaf is celebrating International Week of Deaf People. We shared the Deaf Flag, a powerful symbol that represents our language, identity, and community. We have a Deaf Flag artwork created by Samuel Perkins, a talented Deaf artist which is in our office.
We hosted a special celebration at Scottish Parliament to mark the 10 years since the BSL (Scotland) Bill was passed. We celebrated 135 years of British Deaf Association with the Deaf community at Queens Park Govanhill Parish Church Of Scotland in Glasgow. We had a presentation about BDA by DeafHistoryScotland, an exhibition displaying 135 years of BDA, and a quiz. We would like to thank DHS, the committee and volunteers for their support.
