Taking my mind off **TERRIFYING ELECTION** by charting electricity data :) Check out BC's electricity trade with it's neighbour, Alberta. In 2024, BC imported record volumes (3700 GWh) at a lowly price of $37CAD while still opportunistically exporting (at $226/MWh).

Some news out of Alberta's power market today. Having gone from extremely high prices to a supply glut leading to an extended outlook of low prices, Transalta is responding by announcing they are mothballing Sundance 6, a 400MW coal-to-gas simple cycle plant, for up to 2 years.
