I would love to know the GAA's reasoning as to why the teams in the Liam McCarthy Cup ( Hurling elite) get a second chance whereas ones in the Lory Meagher, Christy Ring and Nicky Rackard don't ( Hurlings non elite). Where is the fairness in that?

Why is the Joe McDonagh Cup going to run in its original format and the Christy Ring and Lory Meagher competitions not?
