This week, kindergarteners and first graders read Texas 2x2 book Where in the World Are You? We looked at Google Maps and discussed the various ways we can describe our location, then used the book as a model to create our own books!

Kindergarteners and first graders are prepared for the solar eclipse! We read Eclipse by Andy Rash, then did an experiment (standing between a flashlight and globe) to understand how the moon moves to block the sun’s light!

We celebrated students who took on the challenge of reading at least 10 books on this year’s TX Bluebonnet Award list! They enjoyed treats, chatted with author/illustrator Matt Phelan (who wrote Leave It to Plum! on this year’s list), and went home with a book on next year’s list! 💙📚

First PantherTales visit of the year with Bill Burden Library and Liberty Hill Football!PantherTales pairs up HS organizations with 2nd graders for reading time and fun. The players were able to read with the kids, play a little dodgeball, and even participate in the fire drill!

Guess who’s back? PantherTales! This morning LHHS Softball hit a home run with the Bill Burden 2nd grade classes, sharing their love of books with our little Panthers. Thanks to Bill Burden Library for making our first two PantherTales visits so great!
