Hockey can be hard to follow on TV for casual fans. Credit to NHL NHLPA ESPN+ Disney+ where credit is due: My kids (8,6,3) are absolutely loving the Big City Greens Classic. Puck tracker, simple rule explanations, pigeon? refs, Grandma goalie are dynamite. #GrowTheGame

This marks Cale’s 4th consecutive season as finalist for the Norris. His only pro season when he wasn’t voted a top-3 defenseman was 2020 - when he won the Calder 🏆

Mark Kastelic is going to be an instant fan favorite with Boston Bruins. Fast, mean, tough, loyal teammate and amazing in the community. 6’3” center you build a bottom 6 around. Old-school Bruin identity.

Open ?s after NCAA eventually affords CHL players eligibility: Will CHL allow players to leave before their contract expires? Will USA Hockey grant all immediate USHL to CHL transfers? Will Hockey Canada allow BCHL players back to CHL despite passing Sept 30 deadline? Many more…

The proposal that would allow CHL players to retain NCAA eligibility will be considered during the November D1 Council meeting. If approved, it will not take effect until Aug. 1, 2025. So, no midseason CHL players.

In light of new NCAA eligibility for CHL players, I’d guess CHL teams start helping facilitate endorsement (name, image, and likeness) deals for their top players to keep pace. Can’t get $ above necessary expenses from the CHL team but can always monetize NIL outside of team.

An extremely clear & well-written article on something we have started seeing in college hockey: the intersection of NIL, revenue sharing, and scholarships - and the uncertainty of whether or not it’ll all hold water.
