Started the day as MC for the dawn service at the Wellington Quarry then a full day on the battlefields, some unique tunnels ending with a candlelit ceremony organised by Battlefields by 4x4 Commonwealth War Graves Houdain Lane.

FrontLine Tour Day 2: Ypres to Arras passing significant battle areas. Had a private visit to underground tunnels, not open to public, that troops would’ve been in 105 years ago today. Concluding with a candlelit ceremony at Houdain Lane Cemetery. Pics: facebook.com/14135870455674…

An honour to lay wreaths at the Commonwealth War Graves cemeteries at Anzio this morning, on the anniversary of the Allied landings on this day in 1944 #LestWeForget

This morning at Anzio, I delivered a message from 101 year old Anzio veteran Harry Shindler OBE, much-loved in the town and who was not able to be there today. As Harry put it: ‘Now it is up to us to defend the freedom which was won with such great sacrifice.’ #Anzio1944

.Commonwealth War Graves Beny Canadian War Cemetery, Reviers. Over 2,000 candles were placed on the graves yesterday. The camera was on a long exposure and no photoshop used.
