So something we have been thinking very hard about is if it would be worth it for our farm to add a drying setup. We have bins but not a dryer and have never really dried corn. Normally we let Mother Nature do it, but last serval years our corn is 12% by time we get done.

Lower highs and lower lows in the corn market isn’t best thing to see.

We had a combine fire this afternoon, nothing was hurt no damage to combine to speak of however can’t find reason for fire starting. Static electricity seems to be the culprit….so got me curious who believes in the old hang a chain to ground to stop static electricity?

2.2” of rain over night, as of right now only 2-4 more low 90 degree days in August with mostly mid 80s. This crop was big it’s getting bigger everyday.

If you took two fields of corn and had the exact same number of kernels per acre in both fields but one had a 61 # test weight and one had 56# one is gonna way out yield the other…..it’s not complicated.

Two weeks ago it was doom and gloom in ag markets, now I see $6 corn people coming out of hibernation, don’t know if I have ever seen change so much so fast. Remember getting more bullish as market goes up rarely works out in the end.

Sold some 2026 Dec corn today hope it’s my worst sale……only been 2 or three years it has been.
