Louisville will be in the spotlight again next week as ValhallaGolf Club hosts the PGA Championship. John Ballard, CGCS and the team chat about the unique challenges of hosting a major and how important this event is to the Kentucky golf community.

Here’s John Ballard, CGCS talking about having a former ValhallaGolf assistant turned BASF Turf US rep, Gary Myers, CGCS, helping out for the championship and collaborating in trials for Aramax to stop large patch on the course’s zoysia fairways.

We have begun trying to keep bermuda out of our new greens. BASF Pylex going out on a couple to see the results. The bermuda should turn white soon hopefully leaving the bent untouched. Tough weed and process but hopefully we can at least reduce the growth rate of the bermuda.
