1. A thread on overcrowding. I'm taken aback by @DonnellyStephen being taken aback by comments that UHL is a dangerous place! This week, older patients spent 24+ hours on trolleys waiting for the specialist hospital care that cannot be provided in an ED.

Reflecting on what Prof. Ronan Collins said last week The situation isn’t either/or (acute or community) its both/and. We need to get serious about #rehabilitation across the continuum of care #investinrehab

Hospitals are not congested because of inappropriate attendances to ED. Access to rehabilitation - the reversal of functional decline that accompanies acute illness in older adults particularly - can get our patients out of hospital, back to their homes, back to themselves.
