Sunny morning walk RSPB_OldMoor purple orchids starting to appear, pink roses, goats rue?, and fish shoal feeding close to the surface. Also common tern & marsh harriers over Reedbeds. Also stripy young gc grebes from Bittern Hide.


30 bird sp. around Royd Moor this afternoon. 7 butterfly sp. inc. Painted Lady and Large Skipper along with freshly emerged Burnet moths. BNA science Barnsley Nats Butterfly Conservation 🦋





Good morning RSPB_OldMoor So many 🐝 about - especially on the sea holly in sensory garden. Butterflies: s tort, s white, meadow brown, ringlet, comma, speck wood, gatekeeper. Dragonflies: lots of blue damsels, common darters, large brown hawkers, and emperor? & fish! 👍



Barnsley Birders RSPB_OldMoor Adwick Washlands, Spotted Flycatcher at least 6, family party showing well tonight. Same area as last years birds.


Edderthorpe , Sunday -Cattle Egret 1 breeding plumage, amongst cows. Whooper Swan 1, Black t Godwit 8. Barnsley Birders @birbguides
