The opening five minutes of The Fellowship of the Ring set the tone for the entire trilogy. This is one of my first in-theater memories- I left the theater naively thinking this is how every epic trilogy could start. This opening alone makes me want to restart all three films.
Oh ok, I get it. When the kids get up at 7am to tuck into their Easter Eggs, after 40 days without chocolate during Lent, it’s “charming” and “funny”.
Yet when I open a couple of cans of high-strength lager at 7am, after being off it for Lent, I’m “making a scene”
