Now that he's got full access to the source, El*n should share some shred of evidence that the "shadow ban" feature actually exists, and isn't the obvious result of something mundane like "Garbage posts by assholes get down-ranked because nobody else benefits from reading them."

Do NOT retreat/isolate yourself socially if you're getting laid off. Deal with the pride/ego shit later. Now is *definitely* the right time to reach out and reconnect with people in your professional orbit (even, or perhaps especially, the 'loose ties' you don't know that well).

Researching all the byzantine crap that clutters a California ballot can briefly highlight the idiotic appeal of Grover Norquist’s cynically streamlined, one-dimensional candidate/policy endorsement logic.

I highly recommend going to one of these if you get the chance. Speakers were great, but I also enjoyed the impromptu conversations with other attendees. Won't say any more than that. (*pretty* sure I'm not violating the Chatham House Rule by divulging my _own_ attendance).

Twitter's engagement is really going to run off a cliff once the Fail Whale returns. All the allow-nazis-but-censor-personal-criticism BS, blue check shenanigans etc are *bad*, but most people will probably still use this hellsite if it keeps serving requests reliably. It won't.

An important, perhaps lesser-known aspect of the Chief Compliance Officer's role is that the SEC can hold this individual *personally* liable for the company's regulatory violations. Fines and all. So, when I hear about a CCO quitting, I hear "Fuck this, I'm not going to jail."

Been on this garbage website since 2006 and I've apparently only produced 232 MB of tweet data. If my arithmetic is right, that's about one byte every two seconds. They have to have waaaay more than that in their various event logs, just from my interactions with the app.

Bicycles don't want to be walked, they want to be ridden. That's why they attack your ankles with their pedals when you try to walk them.

Might be a good time to check x.com/settings/conne… and disconnect any apps that use your Twitter account (for login, or anything else).

The Sarbanes-Oxley regulations created back in 2002 were a result of the Enron scandal. If cryptocurrencies' legacy in the wake of FTX ends up being "made the case for new regulations" instead of "disrupted regulated finance everywhere", that would be pretty amusing.

Me: [squinting with a smirk] Vendor: It's a K, if you look closer. My daughter chose the font for the labels. Me: Ok, I see. I was kinda wondering. Vendor: ...yeah well she's 23
