As part of the ongoing conservation work in the house, some of our finest paintings have gone into storage - at ground level. Instead of covering these, we've displayed them so you can see the masterpieces like never before. House open 11am-5pm daily. Last entry 4pm.

Time for walkies? We love to welcome your pups across the estate, and there's even doggy ice cream for hot weather. They're allowed everywhere with a couple of exceptions (they wouldn't like it there anyway).

The 18th Century was a period of rapid development for Bath. Between 1700 and 1800, the population of Bath grew from 2000 to 30,000. No wonder the city developed from a medieval walled city to a Georgian classical city.
