Most of the Kennon Road Chinese laborers were Cantonese, which accounts for the presence of a lot of Cantonese Chinese in Baguio. The Chinese name of Baguio (pek yu 碧瑤) was also taken from its Cantonese pronunciation. #bahaytsinoy #bahaytsinoymuseum #tsinoyako

Hopia (好餅) first arrived in the Philippines in early 1900s. It was made from beans and flour. Just like taho, itinerant vendors carry two bilao-fulls at the end of a pole, and sell the hopia as a snack and food items. #bahaytsinoy #bahaytsinoymuseum #tsinoyako

In some areas of Visayas and Mindanao, the Paklay dish contains vegetable or meat ingredients from goat, beef or pork innards—liver, heart, intestines, spleen. In Hokkien, PAK refers to the stomach while LAI literally means inside. #bahaytsinoy #bahaytsinoymuseum #tsinoyako
