An excellent day today at the RVPT Fishwick and Ribble running day today. A great variety of vehicles. A first for me was a ride on a preserved Trident, and very nice it was too.

I spent today helping a friend tidying out his dual door Bristol VR. It was the first clean its had in a good few years. A before and after shot to show the result of the day’s efforts which included a deep clean upstairs and down and a heavy external wash , very satisfying!

When going through a box of old Badgerline leaflets I came across a few gems. It’s amazing how quickly it became normal for buses to be smokless zones, but it was once news. Some great old artwork, along with an example from Badgerline’s exploits beyond its normal territory!

There are some quirky buses to be seen here in Bologna. Dual door and open topped minibuses, open top single decks (presumably needed because of the trolley bus wires) and these dinky little electric buses! All a bit different to the norms back home!

Some local buses seen here in Venice. What I’d consider to be the classic Italian Orange bus seems to be a dying breed. Yes, I know one’s a boat but it’s the only boat I’ve ever seen with an LED destination screen and route branding. For lots of areas a boat is the only option

I had a fantastic time at the NWVRT’s Twilight running day today. It really does create a different experience riding on Classic buses in the dark. Some of todays highlights for me included rides on the GM Titan and the Bournemouth Roadliner. What a machine that is!

Nice day out today, participating in the Cotswold Classic Commercials road run. I had the pleasure of taking A138MRN from the Chepstow Classic Buses fleet, a lovely bus to drive. Our procession certainly turned a few heads as it made its way through some very pretty villages.

For as long as I have been coming to Hong Kong NWFB has been a feature of the landscape. Things are changing, with buses now being painted in the new joint Citybus livery. I always rather liked the NWFB livery, even more so when the vehicles had Barbie interiors.

It’s Glastonbury time again! A quick visit to Chepstow Classic Buses h.q. today in preparation. One of the fleet that won’t be going to Glasto is this former Brighton and Plymouth Trident. It is confined to its regular school work.

Day one of Glastonbury shuttles, Castle Cary station to the festival. My bus for today, R145EVX, new to Stagecoach in London. It’s a very nice drive, and takes the hills and full loads in its stride. It’s seen here unloading at the festival bus station, which has over 30 bays!

Today it’s Gardner power. Slow and steady! H816CBP doing the honours. Seen here waiting for another load to the festival at Castle Cary station.

More Gardner power today. Privately owned G103AAD comes out of retirement to help out at Glastonbury. It’s a hard weeks work for it!

Having a couple of days away from Glastonbury, before going back for the big rush home tomorrow. It’s not just Chepstow Classic using senior vehicles. Proving they really do get everywhere, here’s RML 2735 at Castle Cary on Wednesday.

Last day at Glastonbury today, and it was a VR day! UFX856S is a delight to drive and has a throaty roar to the exhaust. It sounded lovely going through the narrow parts of the villages!

Final few Glastonbury images. There were lots of operators present, Stagecoach being out in force. A nice line up of just about every Stagecoach livery, pity there wasn’t one in stripes! The second shot shows how heavily loaded the buses are. Look at the lower deck!

Yesterday, work took me to The Greatest Gathering in Derby. Despite the fantastic display of rolling stock, the highlight for me was seeing the interesting selection of preserved buses operating the free shuttle from the city centre. Here’s two that caught my eye.

A change from old buses today, some 747 action in the from of this Korean Air 747-8. An iconic machine operating the only regular passenger route into the uk that has them (for the summer only).

Hong Kong will always mean Olympians to me. Sadly they are now all gone from normal service, but it was nice to see a reminder of the past today at Tuen Mun depot, even if they do look rather sad. (Taken from a public foot path)

An interesting day today, spent at the 1980’s themed event at The Transport Museum Wythall. Arrived in style on the lovely Titan, GNF10V.

It wasn’t just GVVT running vintage buses in Glasgow this weekend. To support the Polmadie 150 train depot open day these three were hard at work alongside some modern offerings from McGills
