iOS 18.1 added an implementation of the auto-reboot timer for locked devices we've been using in GrapheneOS since June 2021: chaos.social/@jiska/1134478… This was one of our early generation protections against forensic data extraction. We added a lot more protections this year.

Relying on a "Hidden SSID" will reduce the security of any devices that connected to it. They will send probe requests to your "hidden" SSID that can be intercepted. This was key to the original KARMA attack that made Hak5 pineapple so powerful early on. Don't use hidden SSIDs.

If I ever go back to Corporate InfoSec, the first thing I implement is an automation that disable accounts that signs-in from an anonymizer (read: VPN) IP address from a non-compliant device. Call IT, prove your identity and submit written explanation as to what happened. FFS.
