As much as I dislike the government shut down, I dislike people saying it's the Democrats' fault more. The Democrats don't want to kick people off their ACA insurance. The Republicans do. I appreciate Democrats for standing up for the people.

In my lived experience, layoffs tend to happen on the first day of the quarter. My heart goes out to anyone laid off today. Do something nice for your laid off loved ones.

The Republicans could have avoided the shut down without a single Dem vote. They can stop the shut down without a single Dem vote. But they won't. Republicans want this shut down.

Losing SNAP affects us all. All that money won't be spent, causing losses for grocery stores. Prices will go up even more. Republicans could stop the shut down without a single Dem. They choose to make us suffer. They make us starve so they can take away our insurance.
