It may be hot outside but that hasn’t stopped baby birds from hatching. You may begin to see juvenile cardinals at your bird feeders or baby turkeys following behind their parents. Remember to record bird breeding behavior observations in the ncbirdatlas portal in eBird.



In June, folks from NC Division of Parks and Recreation visited our Pine Island Sanctuary on the OBX to do a survey for spiders and moths. They counted 89 spider and 43 moth species! Arthropods like these are excellent sources of protein for growing chicks.
