The midterms highlighted an increasing gap between rural & urban America. When it comes to discussions about communities and education, rural areas aren't often emphasized. It's time to restart those convos and I'm excited to see that happen R Street Institute Andy Smarick bit.ly/2r8oQ4N

With the #116thCongress comes a whole new makeup of Congress with freshmen unlike any other - one of the most highly educated, but one of the least politically experienced. Excited to see what lies ahead. brook.gs/2LCcsU4

I agree. Perhaps, in addition to the legislation we are already working on together to ban Members of Congress from becoming lobbyists, we can team up here as well. A simple, clean bill making birth control available over the counter. Interested?

"For all their imperfections, institutions are the best way to transmit what is good down the corridors of time." Such a thought inspiring piece in The Atlantic by Fmr Sect. of Defense Mattis. They have their issues, but institutions are worth defending. theatlantic.com/magazine/archi…

These are the moments I miss the most about working in the House. You come across these when the rest of America isn't paying attention, although they are just as important.

Most positive outcome of today's hearing: Dr. Fiona Hill showed congressmen, congresswomen and other politicos how they should act-with respect, professionalism, humility, honesty, duty and civility. Her demeanor was such a needed breath of fresh air. #ImpeachmentHearings
