Fellow staff members and students - Prepare yourself - I met my summer goal after 3+ years and completely cleaned out and organized my email. Folders, sub folders, unread messages, everything! I know some of you are in disbelief. It’s real!

The first two days of school are always exciting - getting to see my old students I dearly love and meeting my new students. I can’t wait to see what they can do! We talked success and failure with the pirate version of the marshmallow challenge!

Loved getting our WHAP students out in the hall working on looping multiple choice skills. Low stakes practice but with a twist. No grades required!

Competitive Scavenger Hunts- partly team building, partly content review, partly making connections. I love that students have the opportunity to practice with content without penalty or grades. Bonus - I’ve got a super competitive group. Wait until they see what I’ve got coming!

What better way to start the week than a new AHS sports variation of the egg race challenge. Bonus balls include school chants & corny sports themed jokes. We even had our escadrille for themed music. The competition was real! Review doesn’t have to be a list of terms to define!

This week was our first deep dive into document analysis skills. Students analyzed Mongol documents, matched documents to original Playdoh sculptures, and connected the documents to a prompt.

My students loved Clothespin Bumper Cars as part of our personalized review day! But more importantly, they knew they were my first classes to try it out. When we were done, they gave me no less than 10 fantastic ideas for improvement! #emc2learning

This is what a PLC can accomplish together. Small group pulls and Opportunities to Improve from our test the last two days. Each group with have a different scaffolded task and peers to collaborate with to demonstrate their understanding.

Brand new lesson with a Halloween themed #eggdashchallenge - complete with zombie moves, spider splat, song lyrics, and a selfie station. Thanks for the original concept #emc2learning! My kids blew me away and it was just as engaging and fun to facilitate! ❤️

Ice days! This idea my awesome IC helped me with has to be scrapped for now, but I can use the same basic idea the next week! An adaptation of it came to mind in the middle of the night. Closest thing I had to write it down without waking up the house was bathtub crayons!
