In Egypt, 3 femicides have taken place in the last 2 days. Shaima was killed by her former fiance in Masr el-Gideda. Nurhan was killed in Cairo Uni's Faculty of Archeology by a man she did not want to marry. Sumayya was killed by her ex-husband in Omraniya. This is a crisis.

The killing of the 2 Israeli tourists and an Egyptian - probably the tour guide - in Alexandria Egypt is a heinous crime. This account of a popular dissident is gloating and glorifying the crime…while residing in Europe (France if I’m not mistaken)

Another blow to my academic career and my ability to attend international conferences and workshops... It starts with debit cards and ends with credit ones. I hope academic hubs take what the region is passing through and how its scholars are really suffering into consideration.
