UN Women and Norway in Mozambique renewed their agreement to implement the III phase of the WPS Project titled “She Leads Peace” — empowering women and girls to lead peacebuilding and conflict prevention efforts across 14 districts in northern and central Mozambique.

UNW & MTGAS strengthen their partnership to promote the WPS agenda in Mozambique, through the 'She Leads Peace' initiative, recently funded by Norway, aiming to support 11,000 women & girls affected by conflict in Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Sofala & Manica.

UN Women ESARO Director Anna Mutavati is in 🇲🇿. This Monday in Maputo, she met with the team to discuss challenges, priorities, and ways to advance gender equality. Meetings with the Government, donors, and women’s groups will follow.

Amid global funding cuts, UN Women Regional Director Anna Mutavati expressed heartfelt gratitude to Development partners for their vital support. She encouraged the continuation of this partnership to further advance #gender #equality and the rights of women.

During her mission in 🇲🇿, Anna Mutavati, UNW Regional Director, engaged with over 60 women leaders and feminist activists, who suggested key actions to accelerate GE by 2030: increasing investment in education and strengthening the economic empowerment of women and girls.

UN Women and #JICA have signed an agreement to implement the “Women Lead Peace” project, strengthening women’s leadership in peacebuilding and community resilience in northern Mozambique. The initiative will benefit more than 1,200 women and girls.
