Really informative visit to Ashleigh Farms just outside Dungarvan to view their mono-digester that turns 🐖 slurry into bio-gas & digestate. We can & must reduce our agricultural emissions. We have the technology, now we just need to get on with it. #AnaerobicDigestion

GHG emissions, especially methane, from the #farming sector are a major challenge. Technology exists to generate heat and electricity, plus highly useful fertilisers, from slurry. Govt must ramp up use of #AnaerobicDigesters across Ireland to make farming more sustainable.

Thanks to the team in Ashleigh Farms and Biowave Technologies for showing us around their farm and #AD unit. Wonderful example of how farming can reduce emissions and become more sustainable.
