Thanks for the nice commentary on our #offset paper Sophus zu Ermgassen. It's seems the current political climate means we're a long way from offsets resulting in transformational charge. I don't see that changing any time soon, but here's hoping for unexpectedly large charges soon.

A lack of long-term governance regarding #biodiversity no-net-loss policies risks failure of objectives & could distract from much needed transformative change. Read more in this insightful Perspective from Florence Damiens, Anna Backstrom & @ascelin RMIT University cell.com/one-earth/full…

This is a fabulous paper and should be required reading for all interested in biodiversity #offsets and #nonetloss #netgain approaches: timescale mismatch between ecological vs political/policy realities = huge risks sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Led by Florence Damiens with Ascelin Gordon

🚨New paper! 🚨 My paper in Environmental Conservation critically examines the science of #biodiversity #conservation For @LucHoffmannInst #BiodiversityRevisited Email me for PDF ([email protected]) Here's a 🧵👇 (1/n) cambridge.org/core/journals/…

Loved this article in the Guardian Australia, and in particular this plot of actual and projected emissions by country or region. You can instantly see where a country's climate pledge seems feasible. theguardian.com/environment/20…

How much #biodiversity is being saved from avoiding impacts? This is not an easy question to answer, but we attempt to make start in our new paper doi.org/10.1002/fee.24… Joe W Bull Laura Sonter Divya Narain April Reside 🦇 @LuisSanchezUSP Amrei von Hase and Fabien Quétier

Great to see this paper out. This perspective covers an interesting and important issue, and was ably led by Jonathan Rhodes.
