Not only is higher ed suffering - the option of even *considering* going to uni is being systematically stripped away from low-income students: “40,000 young people will now miss out on higher education advice and support over the next year”

Creative Industries make up 6% of our economy: more than car and oil industries together. They employ 2.3million people. To cut funding is fudge-brained, cack-hearted thinking pitched very much at the highest level of economic self-harm. theguardian.com/education/2024…

Every word here is so true. I love being an Arts Emergency mentor helping to guide young people on their path into the creative industries, often through higher education. Young people deserve opportunities in art, fashion, theatre, music etc. Creative subjects broaden horizons.
