Times Square tonight… Halal food carts everywhere, weed stench everywhere, and public prayer right in the middle of NYC. A very different side of New York than we expected. 🇺🇸🗽

Before coming to America we thought of consumerism, credit card debt… and diabetes. But also something Europe is rapidly losing: freedom of speech. For all its flaws, the U.S. still feels like one of the last places where you can speak freely. 🇺🇸

We came to New York expecting the worst after all the negative headlines. But honestly… it’s been a pleasant surprise. Yes, there’s garbage and chaos — but that’s every big city. The energy, the parks, and the people make NYC far better than the news makes it seem.
