It is **illegal** for public employees in Michigan to strike, yet a judge has just refused to issue an injunction against Grad Employees' Org UMich's strike . What's going on? One of my biggest hobbyhorses is that labor folks should get the words "can" and "can't" out of their vocabulary. 1/

A judge has now ruled twice against the University of Michigan’s efforts to force striking graduate students back to work. Judge Carol Kuhnke declined to issue a restraining order or grant a preliminary injunction against the 2,000 grad students of Grad Employees' Org UMich who are on strike.
