#aptamil TV ad- Girls should aspire to be ballerinas and boys to be scientists and adventurers? What a load of old bollocks. Roll on 14th June when this stuff is banned by ASA asa.org.uk/news/harmful-g…

Cultural capital: an exploration – Ofsted is judging us on this, and do we even know what it is and whose culture we include in “the best that has been thought and said”? tenpencemore.wordpress.com/2019/12/08/cul…

Section 28 came into law 5 years before I came out to my teacher and was told she wasn’t really allowed to talk about it. Everyone in education needs to be alert to an equalities minister who is uncomfortable with the word equality.

How brilliant it would have been as a 13 year old to have this kind of acknowledgement anywhere, let alone in lessons. Still a long way to go but important to stop and see how far we have come. gaytimes.co.uk/life/lgbtq-inc…

It doesn’t matter whether teachers understand it or not. Like section 28, it’s just designed to cloud the water enough to make teachers think twice before going against the right-wing agenda. theguardian.com/education/2020…

1987 speech to the Conservative Party conference by Margaret Thatcher. I was 7yo. Similar rhetoric today with government labelling anti-capitalism as an extreme view. Those dangerous left-wing educationalists.

It's just a thought, and I can't claim to be an expert, but I wonder whether, after 11 years of Tory government, there might be some reason other than "political correctness" and "the woke brigade" for disadvantaged children underperforming at school. 🤔

Education Committee say ‘phrases like white privilege are holding white underprivileged children back’. What rubbish - designed to shift the blame and stop the wheels of anti-racism in schools.

All teaching is political. The decision not to teach about reality of racism is political. The decision not to teach about the reality of White privilege is political. It is no-virtue signalling to those who support the racist status quo & rightly recognise challenge as change.
