20 years ago today Hednesford Town FC achieved their first promotion via the play-offs following a fabulous 1-0 victory at Chippenham Town FC. Some post match celebrations here along with a snap of mom and grandad before the game. Something about play-offs in this week in our history 🏆

On #VEDay I wonder how my Great-Grandad, William Thomas Evans felt. After six years of service in France, the Middle East, North Africa, Italy & UK his war had come to an end. It would take another six months for him to be demobbed - the end of a 22 year career. #WW2 #VEDay80

As we mark #VEDay80, why not come along to a special celebration taking place in Hednesford today 🇬🇧 Super proud of my mom who has once again been a leading light in making sure this #VEDay event goes ahead 👏🏻 Well done as well to all the Hednesford community groups involved.

So good to see some coverage of #Dunkirk85 as it had been distinctly lacking, with the anniversary almost creeping up on people. We’ll be there as a family next week, remembering my Great-Grandad who thankfully made it home in 1940 despite one or two close calls.

Off to Crystal Palace. Home team just won the FA Cup. Palace legends last game at home. Wolves on a losing streak (after an amazing run) and giving squad players a game. Fully expecting a home win 😅 #WWFC

As I said. Defensively really poor tonight. Two losses from two visits to Selhurst Park. Proper football ground though. #WWFC

I always get a little lump in my throat thinking about the Dunkirk Little Ships. 85 years ago ordinary people answered the call to rescue British and French armed forces from the beaches and town of Dunkirk. Look forward to seeing the boats at the weekend 🫡 #Dunkirk85

No trip to Dunkirk would be complete with a visit to the Commonwealth War Graves’s Dunkirk Town Cemetery. Gunner Joseph Pass was part of my Great-Grandad’s battery, and almost made it back home. I always make sure to go and say hello. Lest We Forget what happened here 85 years ago. #Dunkirk85

85 years ago my Great Grandad Evans made it away from Dunkirk, just two days before the evacuation came to an end. We have this great photo in the family archives showing the men of the 8th Anti-Tank Battery who fought in Belgium and France in 1939/40. #Dunkirk85

Another awful bit of business by Wolves, any other club demands £50m+ for a player like RAN at this stage in his career. Instead the decision makers think that £25m, once the fee is paid to his previous club, is acceptable. Just add this to the long list of bad deals. #WWFC

6 June, 81 years since D-Day. I’ve been fortunate to be in Normandy to mark this momentous day in history in 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024. Here are four pictures taken on 6 June during those years. #DDay81

Inspired by Max Dutton, here’s my 60 second (ish) explainer on a historic location within The Royal Parks’s Bushy Park which played a big role in #DDay. #DDay81
