Fentanyl is the most deadly drug we've ever seen. It has changed everything. We desperately and urgently need to get people off of and away from these deadly drugs and invest in treatment and recovery.

I'm not sure why data tracking hasn't happened at the state, but data is always key to maintaining integrity in any program. Especially homeless programs because the participants are extremely vulnerable. I hope they fix this.

This is a tough one. I understand the need for shelter is paramount in San Francisco. But I also know that the Tenderloin is inundated with programs and shelters already. This isn't a NIMBY thing. It's a community frustrated thing. sfstandard.com/2024/04/10/new…

I think the solution here is to have recovery housing available. It can be built into the Housing First model. In fact, HUD has an existing policy already out there, reinforced by POTUS that supports recovery housing.

I was there when this happened. A guy saw this sign, inquired about getting clean, and then was helped into treatment—on the spot.

Felt like magic.

Today's highlight! A man knocked on the door of the Joseph McFee Center b/c he saw the 'Free Drug Treatment' sign.

We called an @uber and got the client into the Recovery Wellness Center at Harbor Light immediately. This is treatment on demand in action! Wishing him the best of…

Our friend T Wolf 🌁 is right. We need recovery based housing in San Francisco and throughout the state. At least 1 person every day is dying of drug overdose inside supportive housing in San Francisco. Matt Haney TheWayOutSF Salvation Army SF

Our goals are to expand to 1,000 beds through the building of new or the purchase of existing properties throughout the city. We have big plans. Because the need is big. There are thousands on the streets of San Francisco that need one chance at recovery. We can deliver.
