In high school, I was a miler and second in the nation at indoors, way before I moved to the marathon. Seneca Lassiter won that race, but the competitor in my got him in outdoors. Full disclosure, I was a senior and he was a junior #TBT

Lauren and Jason are running today in the Run With Meb 5K. It’s a great event to support the Meb Foundation and all the work they do to help our community. I won’t be running but I’ll be cheering them on😀

Did you know that before I ran my first 26.2 miles, I held the American Record in the 10k? On this day in 2001 at the Cardinal Invitational, I did 25 laps faster than any American had before. It is still the fastest 10k I have ever run, and am proud the record stood for 9 years

24 years ago, I made my first Olympic Trials appearance to make a name for myself & test my God given talent against the best 10,000m runners in the USA I was so happy to earn a spot on the team (my first Olympics). I have learned over the years to be present & enjoy the moments
