In fact, it was so good that the wonderful illustrator Sarah Eichert used it as inspiration for the final book. My daughter was chuffed😊, and so was I, to see the young woman front & centre of page, confidently explaining her body, rather than the usual floating body part.

Pleased to see support from my The SNP colleague for the outrage felt by many women at this appointment. It would have been entirely appropriate under the Equality Act for this job to have been advertised as for women only. thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/sc…

‘Elaine..was a vulva on CBeebies, said 'fart' on Woman's Hour, presents on women's health in parliaments & wants to change the world, one fanny at a time.’ I mean, what’s not to love? 🤷‍♀️😆 Go see Elaine. No one has made me laugh more this year 😁 tickets.gildedballoon.co.uk/event/14:3890/

This is a bit personal but it’s so mad that I want to talk about it. Yesterday I found out I’d been diagnosed with PCOS - in 2014, when I was 20. No one told me until now.

1/ Recently I had the pleasure of going to see the superb “Viva Your Vulva: the whole story” by the equally superb Elaine Miller Elaine Miller | Venus Envy at the Edinburgh Fringe. I thoroughly recommend going to see this show. It is an education about the anatomy and function of the vulva . .

Contractions hurting? Why not rub an old leaf on your foot? Or we could research effective evidence-based treatments for pregnant women, rather than fobbing them off with hippy tosh. Thanks for highlighting James Titcombe Catherine Roy mailplus.co.uk/edition/health…

The idea that a health service might treat a mother as little more than a machine for her “baby’s overall nutritional needs” is horrifying on dystopian levels. I wrote this about the hospital policy that @rhiannonlucyc highlighted last week newstatesman.com/quickfire/2022…

It’s nearly time for #DryByChristmas. Evidence shows 3/4 of women with stress incontinence get dry with pelvic floor exs x3/day for 3 months. So, from 24/9/22 to 24/12/22 I’ll pop up x3/day to nag you. If it doesn’t work, you go to your GP or friendly fanny physio. Deal?

went to get scrubs today and they only had XXXL remaining - I asked if they had any smaller sizes and was told ‘it’s not a fashion show, love’ (which as a word always grinds my gears!) no, it’s not, but this is me in small scrubs (smallest offered) still showing off my bra

why don’t scrubs fit women? like women have been doctors for longer than scrubs have existed and yet none of them are sized with women in mind! It’s embarrassing to flash your patients and too hot on the wards to wear an under top at the moment

So interesting! Not only the sex of research animals but the sex of researchers might be something that needs to be taken into account

The field of immunology long thought sex differences didn’t matter. Research showing how and why male and female immune systems respond differently to the same therapies has challenged that thinking. trib.al/njUsS8l
