If the collateral is underwater, it doesn’t matter to THORChain. The network made its profit. It doesn’t have any obligations on the underwater collateral. Paying off your loan mints $RUNE (bad for TC) and you’d get back less collateral than you just paid off (bad for you).

6- This is a superior experience for a borrower because in the worst case, you still keep the loaned money, $USDC in this case, and always have the upside of your collateral. It helps smooth out the crazy volatility pretty cool in my humble opinion

THORChain will soon vote to deprecate Impermanent Loss Protection (ILP). For starters, under this plan: **EXISTING LPS WILL BE GRANDFATHERED IN**. Furthermore, new dual-LPs will be able to deposit for equal protection during a TBD period. So, why remove ILP?
