The Target Center in Minneapolis hosted the first 4 NCHC Frozen Faceoff tournaments before moving across the river. Four different teams won it in that timespan. UMD won the tournament in the last year at the venue in 2017 when the Bulldogs defeated North Dakota 4-3.
