On Sunday Mzuzu University donated various items to 100 households (405 people) at Namatuni Primary School in T/A Mthiramanja, Mulanje. The items, worth K13.5 million, were clothes, beddings, shoes, sanitary pads and soap collected from MZUNI Council, employees and students.

The British High Commissioner to Malawi Ms. Fiona Ritchie says she is impressed with the innovations at Mzuzu University (MZUNI) especially in the Department of Energy Systems in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Dr. Ulemu Msiska is visiting The African Regional Centre of Excellence for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI) at Makerere University in Uganda. Among others, Dr. Msiska shared knowledge with postgraduate students which include seed sample preparation for Tetrazolium Test.

Today, Reserve Bank of Malawi handed over 20 desktop computers to Mzuzu University. RBM Director (North) Mr. Stanley Mphande said they decided to support MZUNI to ensure that the high standards set by the University are upheld.

MZUNI Registrar Yonamu Ngwira says education is key in building global citizens who can contribute to their local and international communities. The Registrar was speaking on Tuesday when he was welcoming students admitted into the university under ICT and Energy Systems.
