Probably unavoidable due to demographic weights and past decisions, but the generation(s) that came of age during unprecedented wage stagnation and house price increases are also going to have to pay higher taxes through their (our) best earning years.

Addendum on this - look at the wage degrowth for those aged 30-39. If you came of age around the time of the GFC, you are in real terms earning less than 90% of what you would have done in 2008.

Very good from Joxley though when it comes to the argument that people who graduated in the teeth of the financial crash, experienced negligible wage growth and are now facing the highest childcare costs in the OECD have it the worst, I’m biased news.uk.cityam.com/story/2254256/…
