.Zarah Sultana MP, a Muslim MP, says UK race riots should rightly be called racist and Islamophobic. Ed Balls, husband of the Home Secretary, sneers at her. White commentators with no lived experience of racism have a good laugh seemingly at Zarah's expense.

Thank you Joe Powell MP for actually using the word Islamophobia. These riots are racist and Islamophobic and should be called out for what it is.

Robert Jenrick, who’s standing to be leader of the Conservative Party, wants Muslims to be arrested for saying "God is great" in Arabic in public. That’s what Allahu Akbar means and every Muslim says it every day when they pray.

Here in London - we have zero-tolerance for racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism or any form of hate and we pride ourselves on being open, diverse and welcoming of all faiths and backgrounds. Those who seek to divide our communities will never win.

This isn’t the win many think it is. We still haven’t had the largely overdue discussion about racism and Islamophobia. We saw towns and cities burn over the last week, much of it inflamed by media and politicians. Is this it? We are supposed to go away again and just crack on?

This is terrible, my thoughts are with the families of the victim. People like Abdullah are absolute heroes. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Upsetting to receive these pictures today. It’s unacceptable that communities have to see such horrible graffiti and feel unsafe in their own homes. I have organised an urgent meeting with our MP Rachel Blake tomorrow at 6pm in Dryburgh Hall to discuss community concerns.

Heartbreaking 🧵please read it. Imagine celebrating the birth of your twins after 9 months of anxious waiting. 4 days later you go to pick up their birth certificates. You return to find your babies and your wife have all been killed by the IDF.

Looking back at productive conversations between the council and our local Housing Associations. A lot of challenges are shared between us - repairs, damp and mould, retrofit - and it's important that we work together to address them. In the coming months we'll formally set out

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have written to the managing director and asked that a meeting is held urgently and that issues are resolved in a timely manner but repairs (esp mould and damp) are prioritised.

Great to attend the Picnic event with Liza Begum. These gatherings are vital as they provide safe spaces for communities that have felt marginalised or unsafe. It was wonderful to see the police, and Westminster City Council engaging with the community too, and activities for the kids.
