This image from today's IPCC synthesis report is brutal. The existing policy trajectory represents a profound failure of our governments, and of our international political system. We need much more aggressive mitigation and much stronger international cooperation.

A "climate tipping point" is not something we will wake up to one morning. It's a slow escalation of conditions in which we eventually realize there is no returning to the climate there once was. Every bit of warming we do makes it worse, kind of like an ever steeper slide.

Whoop, I'm so happy this amazing graphic made it into the IPCC synthesis report💪 Solar and wind are the 2 most impactful and cheapest tools in our toolbox...

We are already experiencing the consequences of our warming world & are now at a climate crossroads. The choices we make now will determine the future experiences of those already alive, and those yet to be born. If we choose not to act, Or fail to adapt, Then suffer we will.

It is getting even more impossible to ignore the climate crisis. The fact that people in power still somehow live in denial, and actively move in the wrong direction, will eventually be seen for and understood as the unprecedented betrayal it is. It is just a matter of time.

The fact neither the prime minister nor the leader of the opposition said a SINGLE WORD about a report warning that we are about to make the actual planet we live on UNLIVEABLE, tells you just how broken our political system is & how unfit it is to deal with what is coming. #IPCC

Scientists from around the world worked on the latest IPCC report for almost a decade. But according to leaked documents, many of their recommendations were removed or altered significantly. 🧵

I'm deeply frustrated by RSPB England's timidity. It *should* attack both the UK's disastrous policies and the authors of those policies. It was right to say that Sunak, Gove and Coffey lied. It was wrong to apologise. We need bold, assertive defenders of the natural world. 🧵

No, it is not ‘just the same’ if a private company runs an NHS service. A private company has a profit motive. They have no place in a public healthcare system.

It was Corbyn… Then the EU Now it’s ULEZ and Net Zero Finding one wedge issue and creating a storm around it is the only way these Tories know how to fight Don’t fall for it. (a clip from The Trawl)
