I'd planned to stop by the Capitol and visit families fighting to pass burn pits legislation. COVID got in the way, so I FaceTimed them and sent some pizza. It’s our sacred obligation to care for our veterans. I won’t stop fighting alongside them to get this bill passed.

Last week, the Senate ratified the US’s support for Finland and Sweden joining NATO, and earlier this week I signed the documents to make it official. I spoke with President @Niinisto and Ulf Kristersson Andersson to congratulate them. Their membership will make our alliance stronger.

I just signed a law to keep the government open for 47 days. There’s plenty of time to pass Government funding bills for the next fiscal year, and I strongly urge Congress to get to work right away. The American people expect their government to work. Let’s make sure it does.

Lisa, an Air Force veteran, and her husband Carl, a Vietnam combat engineer, were married 42 years before he lost his life to an Agent Orange-caused cancer. She and I sat down to discuss how the PACT Act has cared for her, and countless toxic-exposed veterans and their families.
